Will Davies wins his first British Tour Event at Corby!
Having reached the Semi Finals on a number of occasions, on Saturday Will managed to go one step further and win his first Aegon Men's event. In round 1 Will had his hardest match, beating Ben Jones, the No.8 seed, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. The Norwich youngster cruised through the next three matches losing only 7 games in the process. Including knocking out the World ranked No.1 seed, George Davies, 6-1, 4-0 retired. It was no surprise to Will, who had previously beaten George in a Mens County Cup match. The final against Ross Watson was a cagey affair, but Will always had the upperhand winning 6-4, 7-6.
Will managed to complete his win in Corby before dashing home to take part in Norfolk u/18 County training at Easton on Saturday afternoon. He will be spearheading the Norfolk Boys attempt to gain promotion from Div 5 in county cup in Hull this weekend.
