1 day practical Continual Professional Development (CPD) course, for coaches who would like to develop their skills to work with wheelchair tennis players.
This course builds on the Disability Awareness Course and existing experience working with wheelchair tennis players and covers the following key areas in a practical setting working with national standard wheelchair players:
- History,
- Recreation vs. Performance,
- Spinal Anatomy,
- Divisions,
- Playing opportunities,
- Rules,
- GB Performance Pathway,
- Health and Safety,
- Equality and Diversity,
- Equipment,
- The Chair,
- Mobility,
- Shot production,
- Working with players – activities, drills and match play,
- Tactics,
- Video Work,
- Charting.
Pre-requisite – LTA Licensed coach. Candidates will be give a resource pack on the day including coaching and drills cards.
Time of the Course: 9am - 5pm
