A great weekend for Norfolk Tennis Teams at Aegon County Cup!
In Division 2a of the Mens Aegon Winter Cup Norfolk men, captained by Barry Fulcher, gained promotion to Div 1 for 2014 after wins over Warwickshire, Middlesex and Berkshire at Easton college tennis centre. The weekend included a successful debut for 14 year old Will Davies on Saturday.
At Tipton the women came close to gaining promotion from Division 3a, but a 5-4 loss to Leicestershire on the first day proved the key. 5-4 Wins against Essex and Derbyshire put the team in with a chance, but with three teams tied on two wins it was all down to rubbers won, and Norfolk fell just short. However, it was a good campaign with the side slightly below strength. A place in Division 3 is secure.
