Norfolk LTA – Role Description for Disability Tennis Co-ordinator
Purpose
Norfolk LTA wishes to deliver more in the area of disability tennis, to include all areas of disability – e.g. Physically disabled, learning disabled, hearing impaired, visually impaired, etc. The outcome will be more people with disabilities right across the County playing and engaging with tennis in its widest sense.
In order to do this we wish to engage a part-time person to become disability co-ordinator for the County.
Role
The role of this person will be as follows:
- To work with the County Association, Tennis Foundation representatives, LTA Field Team and other key partners to create a delivery strategy and monitoring regime for disability tennis in the County.
- To create and co-ordinate an effective disability tennis partnership for the County which will deliver the disability tennis strategy
- To increase and develop a competent workforce qualified to deliver disability tennis.
- To identify and access funding and sponsorship for disability tennis
- To ensure all relevant activity and opportunities are publicised
- To report to the County Association and Tennis Foundation on activity, results, expenditure and budget requirements.
- The successful applicant will become a member of any relevant committee within the new Norfolk LTA County structure, once finalized.
Brief Conditions
The position will commence in December 2013, be recompensed on the basis of 6 hours per week over 48 weeks at the rate of £15 per hour, and will be on the understanding that the successful applicant is self-employed. The initial contract will be for a period of 12 months. Payment will be made monthly against invoices for work done. Very limited expenses may be payable on prior approval by the Hon Secretary.
Orientation with the Tennis Foundation manager for the South of England will be provided.
Person Specification
Demonstrable passion for disability sport
Able to work on both on a strategic and operational level
Conscientious and methodical with sound administrative skills
Acceptable CRB/DBS check
Ability to network effectively with other tennis people, disability organizations, funding partners, etc
Willing and able to generate own ideas and work as part of a team.
