Tennis World in Middlesbrough is going to play host to an LTA Referee Course in September and December.
The referee course is aimed at anyone who has aspirations to become a referee (this is the starting point), to just to be better equipped to run local tournaments at your club, or simply to learn more about the rules and regulations of tennis!
The LTA is putting on a FREE course, which comprises of two parts. The first part is the Basic Referee Course which will take place from 9.30am - 5.00pm on 16 September at Tennis World, Middlesbrough. This day will cover the basic rules and regulations of tennis (as well as some of the more complex rules!), and how best to run a competition.
The second day (Full Referee Course) is a continuation of the Basic Course, but will also comprise of a short exam. After completing this day, as well as shadowing a referee at some competitions, you can call yourself a referee and register as a member of ABTO (the Association of British Tennis Officials). This day will take place on 9 December 2012 at Tennis World.
