The North East welcomed Roger Draper (LTA Chief Executive) to the first region-wide forum since 2008.
This years Club and Coach event took place at Virgin Active Wearside on Saturday February 23rd 2013. We were amazed by the turnout (approximately 50) due to the snow that had appeared over night but the feedback was really positive from those who had battled through icy and snowy conditions.
The aim of the Forum was to inform local Clubs and Coaches with key updates and information about British Tennis. We were also very lucky to have Roger attend who gave an inspirational speech to open the event and take questions from some of the people.

Local county volunteers from Durham & Cleveland and Northumberland LTA came to the event and we were once again lucky to get some Aegon Classic (Birmingham) tickets from Tom Kinloch (Vice Chairman NLTA).
We picked the two winners at lunchtime who both won a pair of tickets. The winners were Julia Carmichael (Beverley Park) and Brandon Gilhooley (Newcastle City Tennis Programme) who will travel down to Birmingham week commencing June 10th 2013. Information about the event can be found here.
