The very first Northumberland World Tennis Tour event took place on Sunday 22 September at Beverley Park LTC.
The event was a pilot before the full launch which will take place later in the year.
The Tour is designed for players of all abilities but especially those who lack much experience of tennis competition. 44 players took part in the pilot, with Red, Orange, Green and 'Girls Only' events held!
Of the 44 who took part in this 'United States' themed event, 30 have already signed up for the next event which will be 'Buenos Aires'!
Organiser James Newman said: "The Tour helps to provide a pressure-free competition for players without much experience. All players played loads of matches, there were no tears and everyone had a smile on their face at the end. We're delighted with the support the players provided the event and we hope to continue adding more events over the coming months."
Children didn't just play tennis, they took part in a 'US themed' quiz, with the highest scoring players in each event winning a small prize.
