Cullercoats Tennis Club has held its annual finals’ day.
Junior and senior players competed to be crowned champions with 19 titles decided on the day and a number of players taking home a brace of trophies each.
In the junior finals, Aimee Knowles won the girls’ mini red Year 1 competition after beating Natalie Kennedy. Jess Hart won the girls’ mini red Year 2 competition after beating Sophie Jackson. Scarlett Wilson-Baker won the overall girls’ mini red title after beating Emma Middleton.
Reuben Webster won the boys’ mini red Year 1 competition after beating Jordan Simpson. Oliver Cass won the boys’ mini red Year 2 competition after beating Thomas O’Hara. Sam Knowles won the overall boys’ mini red title after beating Alex Courage.
In the mini orange competitions, Zoe Parkin beat Scarlett Wilson-Baker to win the girls’ title and Sam Knowles beat Paul Freeman to win the boys’ title.
Paul Freeman won the boys’ mini green title after beating Sam Knowles.
The winner of the girls’ under 12 and under 14 competitions was Emma Charlton after she beat Rachel Foreman in both finals. The winner of the boys’ under 12 and under 14 competitions was Dom Gunning after he beat Freddy Stewart in both finals.
The boys’ under 16 title was won by Alfie Briggs after he beat Ryan Maughan.
In the senior finals, Lauren Jones won the ladies’ singles after beating Abigail Lemberger 6-1 6-4.
Rory Thompson won the men’s singles after beating Jordan Simpson 6-3 6-3.
In the ladies’ doubles, Lauren Jones teamed up with Abigail Lemberger to take the title after they beat Rachel Knowles and Svetlana Freeman 6-1 6-3.
The men’s doubles was won by Sam Lemberger and Jordon Simpson after they beat Rory Thompson and Dan Simpson 6-4 3-6 7-6.
The mixed doubles title went to Abigail Lemberger and Dan Simpson after they beat Lauren Jones and Stuart Cass 6-3 1-6 6-3 to bring the curtain down on the day’s play.
