Bohemians Tennis Club, Gosforth backed the Brits across the David Cup weekend! The Club ran some mini Davis Cup matches at all their kids coaching sessions on Saturday. With team GB taking on Belgium the young players all wearing a #BacktheBrits wristband to show their support for the team.
By Monday obviously with the result known, it was time to celebrate the success of the team, which the kids were more than happy to do! Most of them were aware that GB had won and that Andy Murray was a tennis hero.
The adults also played their part in the historic victory with a social / fundraising quiz night on Saturday in a local community centre, again with a bit of a red, white and blue theme and a specially written "Belgium" round. It was a great night with over 95 people coming along and supporting the club.
Gail Mernin from the Club highlighted,
“What a weekend of tennis and we were all so proud of what Team GB achieved. It’s been a great year for Bohemian’s Tennis Club and the success on the World stage for Team GB can only inspire our players to continue playing and attract new ones!”
