Men’s Summer League
Lady Bay opened their men’s division 1 account, with a comfortable home win against Farnsfield, where Josh Bexon and Taylor Hursthouse were the dominant couple, winning 6 sets for the loss of only 5 games. Lady Bay went down heavily in their next match away at David Lloyd West Bridgford, where Todd Johnson and David Barton were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 6 games. Musters started their season with a home win against Mapperley Park, where Andy and Chris Vernon were the top couple with 4.5 sets.
Magdala made it two wins out of two in division 2, with a close home win against West Bridgford ‘A’, where Tony Mellors and Matt Jaggers were the top couple with 6 sets, The most resistance came from Jeremy Fowler and Gerry Radford with 4 sets.
Musters ‘A’ continued their good start to the season in division 4A, with a convincing home win against Friesland. Rob Cree and Barrie Hayes-Gill were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 10 games, backed up by James Foreman and Richard Grain with 5 sets.
Retford continue their domination of division 4B, with a convincing home win against Magdala ‘B’, where Tim Taylor and John Gazeley were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of 6 games, backed up by Tom Bradley and Sam Butler-Hughes with 6 sets. Retford then went on to beat Mapperley Park ‘A’ in a much closer match, where Taylor and Gazeley were again the dominant couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 3 games.
Caunton ‘B’ won a very close home match against Mansfield ‘C’, in division 6, thanks mainly to Greg Marks and Paul Hunter who were the top couple with 5.5 sets, The main resistance came from Peter Warrington and Ian Burns with 4.5 sets.
