Great British Tennis Weekend at Aslockton Tennis Club

We were very fortunate in that the sun shone for us on the day and the event attracted a lot of families.
A promotional offer was handed out of reduced annual membership (£50 for adults (instead of £70), with free membership for their children up to the age of 11. Children over 11 in education were offered membership for just £10. There are no extra costs for use of the floodlights.
Our coach, Steph. Barling, led a really enjoyable, fun session for the first hour for the youngsters and for the second hour she cleverly enticed some of the reluctant parents on court to join in. Many of them had a great time and we were able to offer some free follow-on coaching opportunities which have now been put in place. Several children signed up for coaching on Sunday mornings and these sessions are now full and a waiting list is in place.
A prize draw took place for a junior tennis racquet and other smaller prizes.
Refreshments of drinks, fruit, cakes and biscuits were available during the afternoon.
The club feels the Open Day was a great opportunity to introduce newcomers to the club and with Steph’s leadership and commitment we are confident that it will widen the scope of potential players.
