Nottingham will 'definitely' be hosting ATP men's Aegon Open tennis in 2016

World class men's tennis will be back in Nottingham next year following confirmation the Aegon Open will be staged again in June.

The WTA women's event, from June 4, was already in the schedule for next year as part of the three-year deal to hold the tournament at Nottingham Tennis Centre.

But the ATP men's equivalent, which attracted big names like David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez and was won by Russian Denis Istomin this year, was only initially booked for 2015.

However, tournament director Paul Hutchins now says Nottingham will "definitely" be hosting the event for the second year in a row – this after a seven-year gap since last staging the tournament before this.
