The 6th West Bridgford Indoor Veterans Tournament was held from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th January 2011, attracting a record number of entries from all parts of the country. There was a strong performance from local players in the men’s over 60 singles, where John Taylor beat the number 1 seed Alan Dalton from Yorkshire in the semi finals 6-3, 7-5, and the number 2 seed , a fellow West Bridgford club player, Eddie Fox 6-1, 6-1, in the final. Last years winner of the men’s over 50 singles, Peter Whitehead narrowly lost in the semi finals to Neil Shorrock of Northants 6-0, 6-7, 10-6.
In the ladies over 50 singles, last years winner Ann Brown lost in the final to Kim Reed from Sussex 6-3, 6-2, in a game of long exhausting rallies.
