Match vs Leicestershire
We started off against what looked like the strongest opposition we would face today. On the boy’s side, Joel and Gabriel both tried their best but were beaten by stronger opposition. James was able to come through a tough second set to get Notts on the board. Jack battled hard in the second set but came up short. On the girl’s side, Amelia had a tough match losing in two tight sets. The other three matches were all into match tiebreaks. Jess and Jasmine both got good wins, with Olivia just missing out.
Match vs Bedfordshire
Gabriel and Jack got good wins. Joel again faced good opposition who was too strong, with James also losing out in straight sets. The girls had a good set of results with Amelia, Jess and Olivia all winning, with Jasmine getting a walkover.
Match vs Hereford & Worcestershire
On the girl’s side, Olivia got a really good win with Jasmine getting another walkover. Jess lost a close match, with Amelia losing what turned into a feisty encounter! Again there were more match tiebreaks, this time on the boy’s side. James narrowly lost out in his match, but Jack came through 13-11. Gabriel played a very solid match, with Joel giving his best against difficult opposition.
So in the end, the boys finished 3rd and the girls finished 2nd. Everyone gave their absolute best and gave a good account of themselves throughout the day. My thanks go the players and parents for the day’s efforts.
