GBTW Open Day at West Bridgford Tennis Club

West Bridgford Tennis Club’s Great British Tennis Weekend kicked off with lots of children and adults attending our open day for free tennis on Sunday 17th May. We had lots of new people attending wanting  to try tennis for the first time or wanting to get back into the game. Our mini tennis mascot ‘Alfie’ along with some fun tennis sessions ensured there were plenty of smiles on the tennis courts at our club. Many of the attendees took up our great offers including £29 for an 8 week family membership at West Bridgford Tennis Club (off Wilford Lane). This great offer is open for the summer and entitles families to book courts outdoors for free, take part in our events and social play and allows the use of our gym.

We were joined on the sunny afternoon by the Mayor and Mayoress of Rushcliffe for the official opening on our three new artificial clay courts. The opening was accompanied with champagne and canapés, an exhibition match and a toast from the mayor. The mayor expressed his delight at a club in the Rushcliffe area being the first in Nottinghamshire to have artificial clay courts.

The afternoon was ended with a social tournament for adults, and a parent and child mini tennis tournament on our indoor courts. Finally everyone enjoyed the BBQ to finish off a very successful day of tennis in West Bridgford. For more details on the £29 membership please email manager@westbridgfordtennisclub.co.uk or call 01159811699.
