TEAM: Alex Buckley, Jack Ellis, Jonathan Burke, Ross Lory

This is the last age group to play in this season’s competition.  There were a lot of players unavailable due to other tennis commitments or injuries.  Alice Hill fell on court on Friday afternoon injuring her left wrist. This was confirmed to be a buckle fracture, Alice is in plaster for three weeks. We wish her a speedy recovery. Etianna Whitaker came in at the last minute.
The first round was against Hereford & Worcs, the boys played well, Alex had the toughest match playing at number 1, he won the first set 4-2, lost the second 3-5, but came back strongly to win the tie-break 10-0. The rest of the team all had positive wins 4-0, 4-1.
The girls unfortunately all lost their matches, although Frances went to three sets, loosing the tie break 4-10, as did Etianna, who four years young played some very good tennis. Claire played well, but her opponent was just too consistent. The overall score being 4-4.
In the second round against Cheshire, Alex and Jack both played well, lost in the third set tie-breaks, 6-10 and 7-10 respectively.  Jonathan had a good ,solid match winning 4-2,4-2 Ross played well to win in the third set 10-3
Frances had a good win 5-4, 4-1, as did Claire playing very positive tennis against Gaby McKeever of the same rating, 4-0,4-1. Etianna and Emma both had tough matches, Emma lost 2-4,3-5 to a player a rating higher. The overall score was again 4-4.

The girls played well, Frances won 5-3, 4-1, Claire also won 4-2, 4-1, Emma went to three sets but won the tie break 11-9. This gave us a win 5-3.
