Our first match v Durham and Cleveland was a close encounter, a 3-1 win, a positive start.
However after that match, two of the squad went down with serious knee injuries, resulting in them not playing again all season. ( but fantastic support at the home matches)
Sue Bilton from Newark came into our squad as a worthy member.
Our second match was lost narrowly 3-1 to Lancashire on 2 tiebreak rubbers.
The team of Helen Drummond, Jill Shelvey, Sue Reesby and Sue Bilton played and won all of the last 3 matches v Suffolk, Cheshire, and Warwickshire.
This resulted in Notts tying with Durham and Cleveland on the same number of points but unfortunately losing out on rubbers won.
A frustrating end to a good season
I would like to thank Sally Beeley, Beryl Jones, Helen Drummond, Sue Reesby, and Sue Bilton who all contributed to a great team spirit.
