It's been several years since Nottinghamshire last fielded a ladies over 55s county team. We are now fortunate to have a depth of talented and eligible players.   Many are happy to play singles as well as doubles. Others have stepped up and enjoyed the challenge.  

 A huge thank you to Claire Poole, Fi Sanger and Carol Whittington for their singles (and doubles) matches, alongside Sally Walker ( aka the 'Queen of Tie Breaks'). Together with doubles players Sue Alexander, Sheila Chilvers, Mandy Mellors and Helen Adcott – 8 of the squad have been involved in our 4 matches. Opportunities to try different pairings and to gain experience competing in Division 2.

To the team's credit we won 2 of our 4 matches, beating Leicestershire and Oxfordshire 3-2 and losing 1-4 to Lincolnshire and Durham & Cleveland.  We were beaten by better players in very sporting matches. We have  enjoyed our tennis and our weekend playing away in Sunderland! We are enthusiastic to achieve more next season and have even arranged some squad coaching to get us into peak condition.
