Congratulations to Portcullis tennis club who recently became the 13th place2play in Oxfordshire to obtain the Tennis Clubmark award.
Tennis Clubmark is Sport England’s and the LTA’s kite mark accreditation which recognises quality coaching programmes, well run facilities and best practise.
The committee and in particular Alan Hayes who led the process have worked extremely hard to pull all the evidence together and let the members know the importance of this award and what it means to be a Clubmark club.
Club coach Ryan Trickey has not only be working hard to develop the junior coaching and competition programme but he is also looking to enter the Guinness book of records for the longest continuous tennis match.
The current Guiness world record stands at 60 hours, 59 minutes and 58 seconds and was set last month in the United States.
Ryan will be completing the challenge with Andy Aitken of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor Tennis Club and between them they want to raise £20,000 for the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust. The charity supports disabled tennis players with equipment, coaching and facilities.

With the courts looking great and summer on the way the club look set for a brilliant season………..
