Henley Tennis Club Minilympics Event

Friday, August 31, 2012

Riding on the wave on enthusiasm generated by Wimbledon and the Olympics and understanding the nationally agreed need for 'legacy' to sustain interest and achievement for the next generation, Henley Tennis Club are holding a 'Minilympics' event as part of it's initiative to promote and sustain junior tennis in Henley.

This free event with refreshments provided will be held at Henley Tennis Club from 2pm - 5pm. It is aimed at families and will include competitive tennis based events for all ages, including speed gun, keepy-uppy and knock down tennis tubes. Everyone is welcome.

There will also be a family doubles tournament involving teams of juniors paired with parents. This will be held on mini tennis red courts using soft balls and mini rackets with each game lasting approximately 15 minutes.

For pre-registration and further information please visit Henley Tennis Clubs website.

These competitive events will all attract medals of the usual bronze, silver and gold value and will be given out at a suitably impressive ceremony by a local 'celebrity'.
