Oxfordshire's Liz Bamber recently returned victorious from Puerto Banus in Spain.
Congratulations go to Liz who returned to Spain to win the title that she was so close to last year.
Liz said of her win 'Victory was indeed sweet this year as injury prevented me from contesting the final last year in the Grade 3 ITF tournament at the Puente Romano Hotel, near Puerto Banus, and I was determined to go one better. The quarter final against Francesca Mussons was a relatively easy 6-0 6-1 match, but my toughest match by far was the semi against a German, Suzanne Roseneck-Petersen who is only just into the age group. She started both sets like a shot from a gun going 3-1 up in the first and 5-2 in the second but I fought back to a 6-3 7-5 win. The final was against another German Baerbel Kuehnast currently ranked at 18 in the world and the same person I was supposed to play last year. I had a great win 6-0 6-1 so have returned home victorious this year. '
