In this weekends County Cup which took place across the country, Oxfordshire's mens team won Division 5b at Gosling Tennis Centre and gained promotion for next year. The team played fantastically and it went right to the wire with the last rubber going to a match tie break which Jon Maskens and Ben Calnan won, beating Bedfordshire (see article image).

A really great team effort from all involved and a brilliant weekend for Oxfordshire Tennis.
Additionally, helping raise awareness for sport across Oxfordshire, on Friday 28th November the Oxford Sports Awards (held at the Kassam Stadium) recognise the contribution of those who deliver sport and physical activity at local level, including schools and clubs, volunteers, coaches and sport development officers. The winners of the 2014 Oxfordshire Sport Awards have shown outstanding performance in their sports, as well as showed significant impact on sport in Oxfordshire.
Tennis had two fantastic winners. Alexis Canter won the Junior Sportsmen of the Year Award and Beth Simmons won the Disability Sportsperson of the Year helping put our sport on the map! See images of both winners below and cli8ck the link for full details.
