On Sunday 6th January Liz Bamber celebrated her 60th birthday by completing 6 hours of continuous tennis, one hour for each decade, in aid of the Lily Foundation.
The Lily Foundation raises money for research into Mitochon-diral Disease a condition that Liz's granddaughter Lily suffers from.
So far Liz has raised in excess of £11,000 for the Lily Foundation which is named after another sufferer Lily Merritt.
Liz who coaches in Oxfordshire and plays competitively for the county was helped in her efforts by Tim Henman who played in a doubles match with her against two of her former pupils Jack Rivitt, from Carterton and Christopher Gray, from Faringdon.
Tim Henman also donated a signed tennis racquet which is being auctioned off to raise money for the charity.
