In the National Finals of the 14 & Under Road to Wimbledon Tournament, held at The All England Club, Oxfordshire will be represented by Sebastian Rey and Sophie Marriott after they battled through the County Finals held at The White Horse Tennis Centre in Abingdon.
Following on from Tournaments held by nineteen Clubs and Schools throughout Oxfordshire there were over fifty players at the County Finals and they produced some closely contested and entertaining matches over the whole weekend.
In the Boys Final, Seb from Wantage LTC beat Giles Waterston, White Horse TC 4-2 4-1. Meanwhile in the Girls Final it was an all White Horse TC affair with Sophie defeating Alice Atkins 4-1 4-1.
All the players who took part in the event did themselves great credit and Referee, Alison Jackson commented "This has been a great opportunity for players with little or no tournament experience to play in an event which has also included the top County players. Some great Tennis has been played in a friendly environment and the quality of the Tennis in the final rounds has been exceptional. I wish Seb and Sophie the best of luck in the National Finals"
