Oxfordshire Girls County Training

Thursday, June 21, 2012

The final girls County training session for the season recently took place on Banbury West End’s courts.

The sessions, held monthly through winter and summer, focus on team building and improving doubles skills for the County squads.

The top 8 girls from each age group (9’s, 10’s, 12’s, 14’s and 18’s) are invited to attend (based upon ratings and rankings)

A similar session runs for the boys also.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the sessions for attendees is the 30 minute overlap between the  groups.

Pictured is the session overlap between the 10’s and 12’s girls groups.

The County teams have performed well recently showing that the training sessions are paying off!

The next County team announced is the 12&U girls.  Annabelle Denly (Halton) and Lauren Keeler (White Horse) were selected based upon having the highest ratings.

Evie Phillips and Raia Jagger (both White Horse) won through the play-offs to complete the team which will play in Northampton on the 30th June and 1st July.
