OXFORDSHIRE’S Liz Bamber has secured a top-five ranking for Britain’s over 60 women.The Bampton player climbed into the country’s elite with victory in the Grade 3 event at Woking. Bamber beat Surrey’s Barbara Awbery 6-2, 6-2, in the final to land the title.
Meanwhile, Raia Jagger was another county player to win a national title.The Botley youngster beat Erin Oelmann, from South Wales, 4-2, 5-3 to take the 14 and under Grade 3 event at North Oxford.
