Kirsty joined the tennisscotland team in January 2016 as one of our regional development managers covering Central (Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire) and the Highlands (Moray, Highland, Shetland, Orkney and Eilean Siar). On top of her regional remit, Kirsty leads our educational support offer for schools, colleges and universities, working closely with the LTA and the tennis foundation to develop engagement and increase the reach of tennis across the education sector.
Kirsty values the power of sport and the people that drive it, believing volunteers and communities change the world. She feels her engagement in sport and positive role models as a junior kept her focused at school and onward to university. Professionally, Kirsty has built a career in both private and public sectors, beginning after graduation when she secured fast-track entry as a business manager within a FSTE 100 company. Ten years (and "a moment of clarity") later, Kirsty found herself following her passion back into sport and leading the development and delivery of the local authority physical activity strategy and annual sports plans across five sports, of which tennis had the greatest growth. This included the regeneration of two major park sites, the largest schools programme in the country and a world record. Kirsty is a PRINCE2 Project Management practitioner and a member of the Chartered Institute for management of sport and physical activity.
