Sweet Spot Tennis Academy (SSTA) is the first recreational tennis program in Saudi Arabia that has team of tennis professionals dedicated to spreading a love of sports throughout the community and fostering the tennis and sports infrastructure across Saudi Arabia.

 

Founded in 2011, by Mariam Polding, the SSTA has taught over thousands of children to make tennis and sport a regular part of their lifestyle. SSTA actively engages the community through school programs, community outreach programs, monthly tournaments and international travel.

 

The SSTA is committed to making regular exercise and competitive interaction part of these children’s lifestyle from a young age. The programme continues to grow successfully and currently we see over 100 kids a week.

 

This summer we also made our first trip to the Rafael Nadal Academy, Majorca. We have strong links with them and hope to visit on a regular basis throughout times in the year.

Job Description

Job Role 1 (Management and Administration)

 

  • Create SSTA Annual Tournament local, regional and international calendar for players
  • Create camp programs
  • Managing the operational side of the SSTA tournaments throughout the year 
  • Produce monthly newsletter
  • Business Development - looking at ways to expand the program, create greater impact across the community through corporate partnerships, sponsorships and link with academic institutions.
  • Create marketing strategy and produce/suggest marketing materials
  • make suggestions for continual academy performance in terms of systems, procedures, and processes for business optimization
  • Maintain the social media platform and communication system with updates for players
  • Update information for the players of the Academy, including player information, setting groups and scheduling
  • Accompany players to tournaments when necessary and train new employees when necessary.
  • Make follow-up action plans for weekly and brainstorm meetings

Job Role 2 (Coaching)

 

  • Work as a team with the head coach, coaching groups of players from ages 3 to adults in tennis and other possibly sports (depending on skills)
  • Create SSTA Annual Tournament local, regional and international calendar for players
  • Develop a program for training SSTA coaches and others as part of the academy's suite of offerings. 
  • Working with the head coach to create skill development and fitness training programs per age group for the Academy, manage equipment and scheduling
  • Contributing other professional skills such as administrative support and other sports like fitness coaching, swimming, football, etc.
  • Facilitate the Head Coach in producing reports on player performance and player evaluations for feedback to parents
  • Identifying talent and fast tracking players with a view to building high performance players, suggesting additional support through a personalized training strategy.

 ·         Liaise updates with parents and co-workers

  • Accompany players to tournaments when necessary and train new employees when necessary.
  • Make follow-up action plans for weekly and brainstorm meetings
    • Design and deliver community engagement activities to raise the profile of the Academy)

 

Person Specification

This job is all about offering children tennis and sport opportunities and communicating with their parents.

Good communication skills are paramount and smiling is key!

 

Pro-Active,Good interpersonal skills, team player, approachable, warm, friendly, loves children, loves sports, dilligent, can do attitude, flexible, creative, self-motivated, takes initiative, curious, interest in learning about new cultures and meeting new people, highly organised, punctual, solution-orientated…

 

Coaching experience in tennis is a must and other sports (coaching and/or playing) is a plus, like football, swimming, fencing, fitness, etc…

 

 

 

 

Salary

Position: $2000-3500 per month depending on experience (Tax free)

 

Includes accommodation in a shared flat in a central location, transport, one round-trip airfare per year
