The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) today announced the launch of their biggest ever grass roots initiative, Tennis for Kids in partnership with Highland Spring, to establish a genuine tennis participation legacy, following Great Britain's historic Davis Cup by BNP Paribas win.

Glasgow’s Ewen Lumsden has concluded a successful fortnight for Scottish tennis players in Doha following his appearance in both the boys’ singles and doubles finals at the 2nd Qatar ITF Junior Open 2016.

The 41st Scottish Inter District Team Championships will be held this week at Kilgraston School. 8 Districts will contest three age group competitions – 12, 15 and 18 & Under – over four days of competition at the Bridge of Earn School in Perthshire.

Glasgow's Aidan McHugh has won the boys' singles title at the first week of the Nike Junior International Nottingham, a Grade 4 tournament on the ITF junior circuit being held at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.

Scotland's largest law firm is to build on the success of last year's Tennis Greats at Gleneagles by hosting a new Brodies Invitational tennis tournament at Gleneagles Hotel on the 10/11 June.

Holders Thorn Park moved into the 2nd Round of the men's section of the Scottish Cup with a comfortable 5-1 win over Uddingston and now face the challenge of David Lloyd West End on Saturday. The Glasgow West End club, having been promoted to the West Premier Division this season, has home advantage and a young team who will relish the opportunity of upsetting the champions. James Shemilt, Scottish 18 & Under indoor champion, led the team to a 6-0 triumph over the 2012 champions Virgin Active Lanarkshire 6-0 last weekend.

Scott Duncan, the 2016 Scottish Indoor champion, is top seed in the men's singles when the Scottish National Championships are played at Craiglockhart, Edinburgh this weekend.
