On Monday 1st May, 10am-4.45pm, Judy Murray will be joined by the She Rallies Ambassadors from Scotland, to deliver the first National She Rallies Ambassadors training day in Scotland to up to 68 She Rallies Activators.
She Rallies has been created to strengthen and grow the female workforce with the ultimate goal of attracting and retaining more women and girls in tennis. The training is aimed at women currently not active in coaching tennis, who would like to deliver this to their community. For example, you might be a teacher with a class of girls, a Brownie leader or a community leader delivering out of school activities for Girls then our introductory courses Lil Miss Hits and Tennis for Starter Teen Girls are for you. Coaches, teachers or youth leaders looking to introduce fun competitions for girls at their school or club will love the funky ideas included in the Recreational Competition programme.
Lil Miss-Hits 1000 - 1315
Tennis for Starter Teen Girls 1000 - 1315
Recreational Competition 1345 - 1645
In the morning 16 Activators will be trained on taking Lil Miss-Hits programmes and 16 in Tennis for Starter Teen Girls. In the afternoon an additional 36 Activators will be trained in Recreational Competition.
Following the training, each of the new She Rallies Activators will be expected to deliver what they have learnt in their own venues, be that a club, park, school or leisure centre. Each She Rallies Activator will receive a kit bag to support delivery, as well as mentoring and support from their county She Rallies Ambassador.
The training day will take place on the 1st May at David Lloyd Edinburgh Corstorphine. Doug MacDonald, Tennis Scotland Workforce Development Manager commented “Tennis Scotland are delighted to be part of the LTA She Rallies programme led by Judy Murray and are really looking forward to the national training day on the 1st May at David Lloyd, Corstorphine. We are excited about the programme as it’s looking to target women who are currently not engaged in coaching or leading tennis activity so we are hoping that this programme will provide a springboard for growing the female workforce.”
