Aidan McHugh has been named the Tennis Scotland Junior Player of the Year by Tennis Scotland for the second year in a row.
Aidan, ranked No 2 in the British Under 18 rankings and 27 in the ITF standings, enjoyed a hugely successful 2017, reaching the last sixteen of the Orange Bowl and the US Open Boys Doubles.
Among the other highlights of the year for Glasgow born Aidan was making the semi-finals at the ITF Grade 1 events in both Mexico and Berlin and the quarter-finals of the tournament in Bradenton, USA.
Aidan also competed at Junior Wimbledon boys’ singles for the second time and reached the last thirty-two of the men’s singles at the GB Pro Series event in Glasgow.
Aidan, who has been selected on to the LTA Pro Scholarship Programme, commented, "It has been a fantastic year for Junior Tennis in Scotland with several players achieving great results which makes receiving the Young Player of the Year award even more special. I am very grateful for all the support from Tennis Scotland and I am extremely proud to be recognised in this way.”
