Nearly 200 veteran tennis players from 11 countries travel to Scotland this week to compete in the ITF Senior Scottish Championships. 20 age group events will be contested over four days of play at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre, Glasgow and at the David Lloyd club in Renfrew. Players from the host nation won 7 singles titles in 2017 and most will defend their titles in this year’s tournament.
Ireland hosts the 2018 Four Nations Group ‘B’ Veterans’ Championships in Dublin over the May bank holiday weekend and many players in the 55, 60 and 65 age groups will be hoping for a strong performance at this week’s event to put them in contention for a Scotland team place.
Play starts on Thursday 15th February at 12.00 with play on the final three days from 9.15 am. All finals will be played at Scotstoun on Sunday 18th February from 9.15 am. Spectators are welcome to support.
