Following the recent recruitment process, Tennis Scotland is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Martin as its Chairman.
Scott joined the Tennis Scotland Board as a Non Executive Director in February 2016 and has been a strong contributor over that period, notably in the development of the strategy.
Scott will bring a strong professional and commercial dimension to the role, being a qualified Chartered Accountant and holder of a Law Degree, and with a successful business career, primarily in the Oil & Gas industry, and currently in the role of Executive Chairman of Glacier Energy Services.
He has a strong tennis background, as a top 5 Scottish Junior in the 1980's as well as a North of Scotland County player at junior, open and veteran levels. He remains very active on the Scottish tennis scene, both as a player and as a parent, and brings a high current knowledge of the tennis scene to the Board.
Commenting on his appointment, Scott said "It will be a privilege to take on the role of Chairman of Tennis Scotland, and I'm looking forward to working with our new CEO, Blane Dodds, and his team, as well as ensuring that Tennis Scotland is an effective, well run organisation with sound governance. My experience on the Board as Non Executive Director over the last two years should allow me to hit the ground running in the New Year, when I commence in the role."
Scott will start his role on the 8th January.
