The lifetime of service to both tennis and lacrosse by former Tennis Scotland President Pat Reid was recognised at Holyrood this week when she received an MBE
A member of Dunfermline LTC, Pat served on the Tennis Scotland Board for seven years as Director of Tennis Services, in addition to holding various council and committee roles. Over the past two decades involved at the forefront of the governing body, her volunteering has coincided with the most successful period in this country in the sport’s history.
Pat joined her home club’s committee in 1969, contributing to the sport through coaching, refereeing, administration and fundraising, with the most recent development of the club being the addition of five all-weather, floodlit courts.
Tennis Scotland CEO Blane Dodds commented, “We wish to pass on our congratulations to Pat for this recognition of her service to sport and to tennis.
“This award is richly deserved and we thank her for her hard work and contribution over many years.”
