Scotland continues its biggest ever summer of tennis

Monday, July 16, 2018

Great British Tennis Weekend will see courts across Scotland serve up free tennis for families and friends over two weekends this summer.

The second Great British Tennis Weekend takes place this weekend (21st & 22nd July) with parks and clubs offering free events right across the country.

Families and friends across Scotland are going tennis crazy this summer with two free 'Great British Tennis Weekends' smashing into town. The second of two weekends is taking place this Saturday and Sunday (21st & 22nd July). Parks and clubs will be offering everyone the opportunity to get on court as tennis fever grips the nation on the back of Wimbledon.

People right across Scotland will be trying tennis for free in a relaxed and fun environment and can take part in sessions including Cardio Tennis, Mini Tennis and tennis coaching – all completely free as part of the LTA, Tennis Scotland and Tennis Foundation's drive to get more people playing more often. Venues will be providing rackets and balls, so if you've never picked up a racket or just haven't played for a while Great British Tennis Weekend is the perfect way to get involved.

Tennis Scotland has launched a partnership with the charity Maggie's. Maggie's aim to help anyone affected by Cancer and provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
As part of the Great British Tennis Weekend, we would love it if Venues across Scotland could help support Maggie's by holding one of their famous Kitchen Table Days as part of your activities and raise money for this brilliant charity. This could be a bake sale or any other ideas you can think of which can be incorporated into your activities in the Clubhouse.
Try tennis this weekend at a venue near you. Reserve your free place at www.lta.org.uk/gbtw.
