The final leg of Scotland’s new Aegon British Tour FAST4 circuit will be played next weekend at Western tennis club in Glasgow. Organiser Ian Campbell is delighted that both men’s and women’s draws are full with players already looking forward to playing on the club’s new synthetic clay courts.
The circuit of one-day Grade 3 tournaments, which prioritizes players 19 and over, has proved hugely popular in England and been well supported at the four Scottish venues which piloted the new format in 2017. Already a number of new clubs have expressed interest in hosting future events.
Richard Joyner, LTA circuit director, is “delighted with the circuit’s success in Scotland stating that LTA policy is for venues to take ownership of such events and thus create a sustainable competition programme for adult players”
Aegon British Tour FAST4 events were introduced in 2016 to allow adult players who may have previously played at a high standard (such as players that have played at good club level, county, national or international standard) the opportunity to compete in one day competitions whilst fitting this around their busy lifestyles.
Draws for next weekend can be found at Aegon British Tour FAST4 – Western.
