A round-up of some of the action involving Scottish players last week.

Two Titles for Maia at Sunderland

Maia Lumsden picked up two titles at the ITF Aegon GB Pro-series in Sunderland at the weekend after winning both the singles and doubles draws.

In the singles, Maia’s most challenging match proved to be in the Last 16 where she came back from a set and 5-3 down to win the match 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Following this match, Maia didn’t drop a set, winning the final in convincing fashion over Freya Christie 6-4, 6-0. The previous day, Maia won the doubles with Eleni Kordolaimi of Greece with the pair beating British pair Jodie Anna Burrage and Tanysha Dissanayake in the final 2-6, 6-2 [11-9].

The two victories tops off a fantastic fortnight for Maia after she won the doubles and reached the singles semi-final of the Pro-series event in the Wirral the previous week.

Maia now goes into the TS Open Tour TS 1000 event this week in fantastic form and looking tough to stop.
