The Tennis Aces are delighted to announce further support from the Scottish Government through their Learning Disability Programme Fund. The group received their cheque at the recent Tennis Aces Awards Night for £23707.
This funding will ensure the project continues to thrive, assisting the group with expenditure for coach costs, admin, court hire, Campsie View School, Merkland School, Kelvinbank Resource Centre, training of Level 1 assistant coaches, and many other sporting activities and courses which are offered.
Tennis Aces, which is based in East Dunbartonshire, aims to reach out children and adults with additional support needs to participate in sport and develop a healthier lifestyle by taking part in a fun, social activity. The project continues to grow with over 60 participants involved in playing, volunteering, or running the project. The rise of volunteers has grown to 22, with many receiving Saltire Certificates at their recent Awards Night.
Allwyn Crawford, Head Coach at The Tennis Aces said "The funding will allow us to continue to develop our players both on and off the court, and most importantly continue with building participants confidence for friendships, and enjoying sport for their fitness."
The group appreciate the ongoing support from funders and look forward to another successful year ahead.
