Kinnoull men successfully defended their Team Tennis title on Saturday but had to work hard to beat Cults in their final match. With the six singles and doubles rubbers shared, the match was decided by a tie-break shoot out which the holders won against their Aberdeen opponents to remain unbeaten in this year's competition. The Perth side will again represent Scotland when the national playoffs are played in 2019.
Edinburgh St. Serf's will be promoted to the top tier after finishing top in Division 2.
Three teams finished on equal points at the top of Division 1 in the women's competition with Glasgow University taking the title for the first time with the highest number of rubber points followed by Newlands and the University of St. Andrews.
Team Tennis is a singles based team competition open to all Tennis Scotland and LTA Registered Venues. It aims to provide players of all ages with regular league matches, against similar standard players in a competitive team environment. A total of 5,473 teams from over 1,169 venues played in Team Tennis 2018. It was also been a record season in terms of the number of venues entered into the competition. A total of 26,424 players also competed in 2018- the highest participation number on record in Team Tennis.
