The grass courts of Wimbledon were once again busy with players competing last month. The Road to Wimbledon Finals took place mid August with players from across the UK, India, China, Japan and Hong Kong competing in both regional and county finals.
Joseph Logan (Scotland West) was victorious in the County finals event after a great 3 setter match against Daniel Griffith (Wales). Joseph also made it to the County Boys doubles final with Mark Young (Scotland South). Sadly they lost out to the singles finals runner up Griffith and his partner Bosco La I Ching Chung (Lancashire).
8 of the 10 Scottish players progressed to the second stages of the National tournament. Sam Whitton (East) & Lewis Findlay (North) reached the SF of the County Doubles event.
In the County Girls’ doubles Annemiek Sterk (North) and Felicity Walls (South) reached the SF and Heather Barlow (West) and her partner lost narrowly in the final - 6-4 / 2-6 / 11-9
Congratulations to all players that competed. Past Road to Wimbledon players have always loved the experience that they had at this fantastic week down at the All England Club.
Cambuslang and Newlands player, Joseph Logan, has shared his personal experiences on The Road To Wimbledon with us. Thanks Joseph!
