As part of the Birmingham Active Parks tennis offer Tennis Activator training took place at Billesley CITC on April 9th. 16 volunteers came to the workshop to learn basic tennis knowledge in order to provide fun games and supervision at six park sites in Birmingham over the Summer.
The volunteers from across Birmingham will help to deliver free, informal mini tennis to families using the following parks: Cannon Hill, Calthorpe, Summerfield, Handsworth, Ward End and Aston. Part of the workshop involved learning how to provide tennis activity in small spaces, creating makeshift nets and courts which are shown in the photos! All volunteers really enjoyed the training and are looking forward to helping others from their local community have a go.
