Rising South Wales tennis star Evan Hoyt has helped Great Britain's 16U boys team to victory in the European Summer Cup.
Evan, from Llanelli, was part of a three-player GB team under captain Greg Rusedski.
They won three matches in three days, beating Ukraine, Israel and Italy on the clay courts of Le Touquet in Northern France to claim the Borotra Cup for Great Britain for the first time in the 40 years of the event.
Evan and team-mates Kyle Edmund and Luke Bambridge also gained qualification for the Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Finals in Mexico in September, by beating Ukraine on the opening day.
After the win, Evan said, "I'm feeling good, it’s such an emotional moment. I had a tough singles this morning, gave it my best but didn’t come through, but great work from the other lads to win in the doubles."
Earlier in the summer, Evan won his first round match at Junior Wimbledon, and made national headlines when he faced Rafa Nadal in a warm-up on court.
Peter Drew, chief executive of Tennis Wales commented: “This is a fantastic achievement for Evan and another encouraging sign for the future of Welsh and British tennis.”
