Young tennis players from Wrexham, Flintshire and Gwynedd were among the winners as the top players from primary schools across North Wales came together for their big event of the year.
The North Wales Mini Tennis Schools finals took place at the North Wales Regional Tennis Centre, Wrexham, featuring 150 youngsters who had won through from the hundreds players who entered their local authority qualifying tournaments.
Mini Tennis provides an opportunity for players aged 10 and under to enjoy the fun of competitive tennis.
Competitions are played at three levels according to age and ability – red for beginners, progressing to orange and then green for the most advanced players.
They play in teams of four – boys and girls – at three levels, according to age and ability.
These are modified versions of the full game, on smaller courts with slower balls and small rackets. As children get older, the court and racket sizes increase and the balls get bouncier!

Year 6 and Under (Mini Tennis Green)
Girls: Winners – Sychdyn, Flintshire; Runners Up – Borras Park, Wrexham;
Boys: Winners – St Marys, Wrexham; Runners Up – Ysgol Bodalaw, Conwy
