British Tennis Leaderboards Latest

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

The 2010 winter leaderboards have been finalised and the 2011 summer leaderboards are now live on the LTA website.  Leaderboards allow players who are competing on the Winter Tours to track their progress, just as the top players do on the ATP/WTA Tours.  There are multiple leaderboards now in operation across the three tour levels – Winter National (Grade 2), Regional (Grade 3) and County (Grade 4 & 5) Tours.

There is one Leaderboard for players who have competed on the Winter National Tour.  Players who have played in the Winter Regional Tour will find themselves on one of a possible seven leaderboards in the South East, East, South West, Midlands, North, Scotland and Wales, depending on where they are from.

Most importantly each county has its own Winter County Tour Leaderboard from 9U to 18U as the players battle it out in the Grade 4 and Grade 5 events.

In Wales the players who topped of the Winter County Tour leaderboards at 9U level were Evan Williams (North) / Alex Hamer (South) and Katie Land (North) / Lily Scaplehorn (South).

In the 10U Leaderboard Nathan Caines (North) / James Story (South) finished top of the boys and Charlotte Ainge (North) / Grace Lim (South) topped the girls.

In the yellow ball age groups the following players finished first in the boys 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U leaderboards in Wales: Jamie Hogg (North) / Ordan Hobbs (South), Matthew Sharp (North) / Finnian Bult (South), Sion Myers (North) / Samuel Dunne (South) and Adam Scarff (North) / James Griffin (South) headed up their respective age groups.

In the yellow ball age groups the following players topped the Girls leaderboards at 12U, 14U and 16U level. They were Rachel Yates (North) / Rebekah O'Loughlin (South), Caroline Bromley (North) / Kelsey Barratt (South) and Chloe Alpine (South).

The summer 2011 season has now begun and the leaderboards will be live from Friday 22nd April for the National, Regional and County Tours.
