Abergavenny Tennis Club was host to 96 players from across the UK for its 3rd annual Grade 4 Open Championships this Easter Holidays. With events ranging from Mini Red to 18&U Singles, the tournament was a big hit with both players and parents and is gaining a loyal band of regular entrants travelling long distances to return each year.
The club has put in a huge effort to make a welcoming tournament that players want to come back for, with our junior coordinators Julia Jones and Nicola Morris organising a popular tuck shop, teenage tennis leaders volunteering to help deliver a busy day of Mini Tennis events, some quirky prizes from our sponsors and the atmosphere being considered to be very warm and quaint by those who visit. This year the event was sponsored by tennisplanet.co.uk.
