Young Coaches Programme 2014 - Application Open

Friday, May 02, 2014

Sitting under the umbrella of the Coach Advantage Scheme (CAS), the Young Coaches Programme is a unique opportunity for a select number of young enthusiastic Welsh coaches to be given further education, training and guidance in all areas of club/performance coaching. The aim of the scheme is to provide more support for our keenest coaches to become leaders in this profession in the future.

Coaches who are aged 23 or below can apply to be a part of the Young Coaches Programme once they have passed their Level 2 qualification. The initiative will be for a maximum of 3yrs for each coach, allowing them to gain a foundation in all areas of tennis coaching but also pick the route they are most passionate about to follow more intensely for the development of their coaching career.

Successful applicants can expect:

·         Mentoring support from the best coaches in their fields in Wales plus follow up support from the Tennis Wales team and where necessary outsourced tuition.

·         Opportunities to attend a variety of Coach Development Courses.

·         The opportunity to be supported in their chosen area of expertise.

·         An opportunity for each coach to lead an individual approach to their career development.

·         Each coach can expect to be supported in producing a portfolio folder for future potential interviews and for reference of good practice.

Please find attached with this letter a list of desired criteria in order to apply for the above programme. If you are interested in applying then please contact the Tennis Wales office and request an application form. Please note that applications close on the 31st May, 2014.
