At 6.45pm on Saturday 24th January 2015 Tennis Wales will be staging its annual awards evening at the Village Urban, St David’s Park Hotel in Ewloe. The evening promises to be another memorable celebration of the many current achievements in Welsh tennis.
Joining us as special guests will be Ken Skates, the Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Cathie Sabin, the first ever female President of the LTA, and Jon Morgan, Director of Disability Sport Wales. The awards evening will once again be hosted by the very entertaining former TV presenter Arfon Haines-Davies.
This year, finalists have been selected in each Award category with the winner of each Award being announced on the night. The finalists are:
Volunteer of the Year
Andrew Loveridge, Paul Daley and Sue Lawrence.
Young Volunteer of the Year
David and Sam Thorp, Frances Louise Smith and Molly Abell.
Performance Coach of the Year
Becca Strelzyn, Cameron Upton and Chris Lewis.
Development Coach of the Year
David Williams, Jonathan Jones and Rhys Morgan.
Club/Centre of the Year
Montgomery Tennis Club, Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club and Radyr Lawn Tennis Club.
Team of the Year
Howells School Senior Tennis Team, North Wales U12 Girls and South Wales Men’s.
Club Team of the Year
Cardiff Castle Ladies 3rd, Newtown Men’s A Team and Rhiwbina Men’s First Team
Player of the Year
Josh Milton, Matthew Story and Ricky Hernandez Tong.
Local Authority
Flintshire and Wrexham CBC.
As well as the above we will also present an Outstanding Contribution to Tennis in Wales Award.
We would be delighted to offer you tickets for the evening at £30 per head, including an arrival drink, 3 course meal and the ceremony itself. Dress code: Smart/Lounge suits.
