Schools from Wrexham, Conwy, and Powys were among the winners at the North Wales Primary Schools Tennis finals.
Over the last year, primary schools across North Wales have competed against each other to reach the finals, played at Wrexham Tennis Centre.
In all, 1,740 pupils from 66 schools in seven local authority areas, Anglesey Gwynedd, Conwy, Flintshire, Wrexham, Powys and Denbighshire, participated in the qualifying matches.
“It’s great to see so many children involved in such an exciting event,” said Jenny Broughall, Participation Development Officer at Tennis Wales.
“We have been working hard to give more youngsters the opportunity to play tennis in school, and the popularity of this competition reflects that. We are keen to make tennis one of Wales’ most popular sports, and we’re making good progress in making tennis more accessible to more people from an early age.”
