The LTA have introduced a new process of recognising the achievements of those involved in Tennis on a County, Regional and National Level, this being the Aegon British Tennis Awards.
As such this will run side by side with the Tennis Wales Awards process.
Tennis Wales has aligned 8 of its 11 categories with the British Tennis Awards, in order to allow its winners the chance to progress onto a GB stage.
The Aegon British Tennis Awards Categories include:
- Volunteer Award
- Young Volunteer Award
- Coach Award
- Club Award
- Community Venue Award
- Education Award
- Disability Programme Award
- Outstanding Achievement
Therefore, if you would like to nominate someone for any of the above categories in the Tennis Wales Awards you should complete the online nomination form… Now!!
You can nominate via the LTA website: www.lta.org.uk/britishtennisawards.
The deadline for the nominations currently states 31st October, however, this will be extended till 12pm on the 1st December .
The winners of these 8 categories, will progress through to the nomination process for the Aegon British Tennis Awards which will be held in London in June 2016.
In addition to the above 8 categories, Tennis Wales will continue to recognise the achievements made in the following 3 categories.
- Team of the Year
- Club Team of the Year
- Player of the Year.
Nomination forms for these 3 can be downloaded here. The deadline for these categories will also be 12pm on the 1st December.
The Independent Shortlisting Panel for the Tennis Wales Awards will meet on 10th December. Invites will be sent out shortly after this date.
The Tennis Wales Awards Evening for the above 11 categories will be held in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, in Cardiff on Saturday 20th February 2016.
