As reported in the previous newsletter, Alan Goodall from Prestatyn, sadly passed away on 21st December.
Alan, a retired Chartered Accountant was known throughout Welsh tennis as both a tennis player and the holder of various tennis officer positions, which included Honorary Treasurer and Chairman of Prestatyn Tennis Club to name a few.
Alan was instrumental in the promotion of tennis in North Wales and served on the North Wales LTA Committee and Welsh LTA Council for a number of years. In 1996 he was award the D.Price Thomas Memorial Award by the North Wales LTA for devoted service and furtherance of the game in North Wales. He was rightly awarded with a MBE in June 2005 in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his service to the community in North Wales and to tennis.
In 2008, Alan was awarded an Outstanding Contribution Award at the Tennis Wales Award ceremony.
Alan will be sadly missed within the world of tennis and throughout the wider community.
